Ext 3.5 SATA internal interface / Firewire ext interface

IS firewire dead?

I really preer to have a firewire connection over a usb 2.0 connection for this leftover SATA drive that I have, but prices for firewire external drives are very high.

The lowest I can get is 49.99 MacAlly Firewire enclosure with an internal SATA interface.

Should I just bite the bullet and get a cheap usb 2.0 enclosure? How low can I go? Thanks!

If you want a 3.5 firewire enclosure, Newegg.com has one for $20. A search for firewire sata 3.5 enclosure using the shopping feature on Google and Yahoo show others considerably less than $49. You will want to read the user reviews to determine which ones offer reasonable quality.
