Yet another Empower thread

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After having read at least 7 other threads on this issue I am still confused as to what I should buy as a power adaptor.

I have a 17" Dell Inspiron E1505

the battery is GD761 Rating 11.1V Capacity 53WH (all of which means absolutely nothing to me...i'm just transcribing )

I want to be able to use this laptop for video viewing/ gaming on Continental flights.

A number of the eariler threads seem to offer a solution but with caveats for both Dell brand laptops and for 17" screens.

So...... what should I buy?

Thanks again

I totally understand that the information you're seeking wasn't readily available in the other 7 threads you searched but is there a reason this question couldn't have been asked in one of them? Really no reason to have so many multiple threads on the same topics as they make the information even harder to find.
Wish I could offer some help on subject but I have none.

According to seatguru.com, some Continental aircraft have Empower and some have AC power. Some aircraft have no power ports. Some have ports at some seats but not others.

This is why I carry a large Targus case stuffed with every possible adapter I could need. The only thing I don't carry is a large spool of wire to pull power from the ether.

...then again, I am something of a pack rat.

Before we begin; the E1505 is NOT 17". It's a 15" machine.

Are you sure it's a 1505? If so; then I'd suggest getting an iGO everywhere charger like the everywhere85. Just order the charger and the suitable charging tip for the notebook.
