Problem with time stamp on Mac Mail

I am using Mail (v2.1.2) on a PowerBook G4. The time stamp on emails is 9 hours ahead of the time on the computer clock.

The problem began when I returned from a trip to Europe (9 hours ahead of Seattle). Any help in fixing this problem would be appreciated.

Did you change the time on your computer when you returned, or did you change the time zone? I'm betting that the time zone is wrong but the time is "correct" leading to you thinking that the computer has the correct time but it is actually 9 hours off.

This would be my guess. Adjust the timezone and see if it changes the timestamp.
