In-Flight Networking Technologies

A recent AP article has a reasonable summary of the in-flight networking technologies presently being pursued. It seems that several are concentrating on plane-to-ground connections, which limits the technology to flights over land where towers have been installed.

The new UA C and F seats has ethernet ports. May be they will enable them sometime in the future?
