Why are there no "wireless" USB cables?
Having just bought a great set of Logitech Z10 speakers (which have a built-in soundcard and are connected to the PC via USB), I was wondering why there are no wireless USB cables on the market (yet?) or if I just can't find them. The technologies seem to be there (my wireless keyboard/mouse connect to the PC via USB stick, and if that approach does not provide USB 2.0 bandwidth, one could presumably use WLAN technology/protocols and still have the sticks on both ends "emulate" a USB cable.
Any inputs?

The technology is still very expensive, usually around $150 for one hub and receiver

? Seriously, had not realized that the receiver needs external power (which I suppose is why they went for the hub). Couple of years from now, the sender will be integrated into the PCs already (that seems to be happening now) and you'll only need a stick as a receiver which will be powered from the receiving USB device (that's wishful thinking on my part and might require a change to USB specs, but one can dream)!
