I can't say it is still there and according to the link posted above it isn't but last Xmas there was a Tumi store at the Tanger outlet mall in Commerce GA.
North of Atlanta on I-85.

well I will not be back in atlanta for a while. besides that I already purchased the bag and I am happy so far with one exception. The shoulder strap is not that comfy. I think it needs a little extra padding. I have a samsonnite laptop case (15" - 15.4") that has hands down the best handle and shoulder strap I have ever felt. So to say the least I might swapput the shoulder sling from that one to my Tumi.

I love the fact that this bag has just enough room. I can be somewhat of a pack rat so this helps me reduce the amount of extra Stuff that is essientially not needed

Yes, that shoulder strap padding was one of the "downgrades." Glad you have a solution.

A few words of caution: I was told by a bag claim agent at LAX last year that a lot of Tumi bags are stolen because they are Tumi.
(She passed this little tidbit on to me as I was filling out a claim for my Travelpro bag that was stolen. :mad: I think it was stolen because it spun around on the carousel for quite some time because it got to LAX about 5 hours before I did and some opportunist took it because he could, not because it was a Travelpro.)

Mine was stolen when the trunk it was in fell off my motorcycle -- nothing sinister (or, at least, TUMI-specific).

If I can help it this bag will never be checked. anything else that I by chance will be carrying in adition to this will most likly be checked before this tumi bag.

I know, your main interest is laptop bags, but I had a not so good experience with Tumi. I bought the T-Tech Pulse Grand 35" Wheeled Duffel and had to replace it after less than two years because of too much damage. Well, I know the baggage handlers at JFK can be rough, but still. I have a rowenta aluminum piece now and am quite happy with it.

Tumi has just opened a new outlet store at the Prime Outlets in Orlando, FL. I stopped in tonight, they seem to have a pretty good selection and discounted prices.

How are the prices compared to reg retail? Do they carry the current lineup of items or are they carrying the discontinued items. Thanks. This may be a great weekend trip for me.

From what I found, their prices are about 20% off of list. They had a selection of both current and recently discontinued items (a lot of stuff that was in the Summer Sale). They also have additional discounts on some of the discontinued items. I believe the discontinued T3 Ducati line was an additional 25% off.

Well after about a little more than a month the Tumi computer bag has been holding up very well to Daily (5-6 days a week) use. It has gotten wet (damp). No amage to items inside and still looks like new. I know that some have had Tumi items for years and they still look new. If this is the case then this (MY) Tumi bag is following that same pattern. I still manage to get all the essentials in the bag, however I feel that the bag could be an extra inch or so in wide. I find myself having to situate my laptop charger cord just right in order that it does not press against my laptop scren (sony txn15p) as not to damage it. This has to be done because I also carry my Canon sd650 camara in the front pocket. All in All not a big problem. Typically items in my Tumi bag are laptop (model mentioned above 11.1 inch screen), Canon point and shoot, Ipod, laptop power supply, shure E2's, 2 dvd's in plastic cases, London top 10 book (for upcoming trip), ink pen and usually a magazine or 2. Again so far so good. I did see a bag by Samsonite that looked very good. I have had good use of samsonite products 1 of which is a hardside suitcase that I can't break. The price was MUCH lower than the Tumi product and was slightly bigger overall. Had second thoughts for a little while , however I know that I usually make good first decsisions. So Thanks everyone for the help. Hopefully this case will last a very long, long time.

I would second this warning. All Tumi that has been purchased at an outlet do not carry the warranty.

I love Tumi. I think the best line is the G4 line. The other stuff which was added in the last couple of years is more fashion rather than functional. The newer stuff is not going to last as long as their G4 and G3 lines.

If you are interested in getting Tumi - don't go to the outlets because of the warranty but try TJ Maxx.

Check out the Victorinox Leather Briefcases. Less $$ and the leather comes from the same Chinese Tannery as Tumi.
