I never had a problem with that. I might receive 1 fax a year, and I've had the free service pretty much since it came out. Just logged in now, still shows account active.

Not already mentioned, but a big killer with eFax is that if you go over your free quota (20 pg/month), eFax has the right to make you upgrade to a Pay service, and if you don't, they can terminate your free service. Pretty severe penalty for what could be an honest mistake. I'd rather they have a way not to deliver your faxes instead of potentially terminating your account.

depending on volume - eFax free (receive only), RapidFax (good for both sending and receiving)...
