Nokia N810 is released...

N800 + slide-out keyboard + GPS.

These things get better and better.

If that performs, I'm getting one.

Some coverage at Gizmodo.

They no longer have the 770.

They do have the 810 though.

There are 770s on eBay new for ~$150 and used from ~$120.

It's certainly possible I made a mistake in reading!

But now the site won't come up for me at all.

Not as good a price as the old Tiger Direct deal, but the shipping is cheap:

N800's are dropping in price since the N810 is on the way.

I think the N810 is coming out mid-November. I'm thinking I'd use the built-in keyboard, but anyone use a Bluetooth keyboard with a N800? Experiences?

Also, I notice the N810 has 2GB of internal storage and one MiniSD slot, whereas the N800 has minimal internal storage but 2 SD slots. Sounds like one makes a tradeoff: GPS + keyboard + clocked a bit faster than the N800 (though they say the N800 can be reclocked at 400 MHz) + slightly lighter but minus some storage capacity.

I use a Dell-branded bluetooth keyboard with my N800 and it works great - the N800 automatically detects it when I open it up and I just start typing. A built-in keyboard definitely wins from a convenience viewpoint but this factor alone won't get me to upgrade at this point.

1) I dumped Opera and installed Mozilla, MUCH better
2) Put Rhapsody on it as well as the Canonla media player (Canona doesn't work at the moment though).

Loads of other apps on it, there are quite a few good quality repositories out there if you have one of these.

I take back all the nasty things I've said about the N800
Is this Minimo or a real Linux Mozilla with all the functionality of like Linux Firefox? Thanks.

It's the real thing. Made by the Firefox dev team, not the Minimo spinoff.

Great, that should provide more function than I get with Opera. Thanks. Ordered one and a BT keyboard from Amazon.

After playing with the 770 for a couple of days, it's an impressive little machine.

But it just isn't going to work for what I need it for.

The seller will take it back for $20 less than what I paid. But if anyone would like to do better than that, PM me. (I got a good price)
