Dell 420/430 and in-flight power

Does anyone have experience with the D430 and it's ability to charge off of EmPower or standard airline outlets? I am replacing an old Toshiba Portege ultralight workhorse that works great with IGo and plane outlets.

I can't find anything recent on this subject, but I would prefer to keep the IGo or Kensington brick for all of my components and I see that the heavier Dell's wont charge with 3rd party bricks and draw too much amperage for in-flight charging. Is this the case with the D430?

The company is standardized on Dell now, so I am going to have trouble securing another brand. I hope that somehow the light version actually works as I would like!
