Problem with Razr battery

In a nutshell, I bought a "new" motorola v3t on EBay for what I thought was 1/3 the price of a new one as I needed an unlocked phone for my international travel which is coming up in 2 days. The phone came with no manual but I charged the battery overnight prior to using it. Next day, I used the phone, battery dead in 2 hours. Went to Batteries plus and bought a brand new battery and again charged overnight- at least 14 hours prior to use. This time the battery went dead in 3 hours with only 2 short calls made. Went back to Batteries plus and had the battery exchanged for a new one. Charged overnight- went dead in three hours. It can't be another dud battery this time. there must be something wrong with the phone but what? Is it possible something with the phone is causing it to discharge the battery. Problem now , is that it is too late to return the phone as I am leaving in 2 days and I need an unlocked GSM phone. Any suggestions, comments, thoughts appreciated.

My RAZR battery is also very weak, dead after max. 48h with no calls, after 24h with 30 to 60mins of takling. But 3h sounds like there's something wrong.

Is the screen shutting off when you close it?

My wife has a RAZR from Verizon.

Frequently, the outer screen remains on. Verizon is useless and just wants to do software updates.

The battery life on my wife's RAZR (CDMA) is much less than on my Motorola phones (GSM), which I thought was just related to network technology since GSM typically has better battery life than CDMA.

I don't have a Razr, but I was at a Verizon store and two of the employees were laughing about one of their coworkers who actually sold someone a Razr without an extended battery.

From what they were saying the standard battery doesn't have much life.

Sounds more like a charger problem. Try using a different USB charger

Of course, the reps make huge commissions off of accessories such as holsters and extra batteries. They charge about 40 dollars at the corporate stores for the batteries, but they are readily available online for far less...
