Windows XP file-folder view

Someone helped me with this question before, and I apologize for not being able to find that response via search.

I am configuring a new laptop. I prefer to view my files and folders using the "Details" view. Is there a way to set this as the default? At tme moment, I have to choose this each time I open a folder or a directory.

Thanks for any help!

"You can apply the view (such as Details or Tiles) that you are using for this folder to all folders."

Tools - Folder Options - View Tab - Apply to All Folders buttons

Thanks!

I actually tried that, but perhaps I had multiple folders open at the time. In any case, this time it seems to have worked. Small wins!
