Looking for basic GSM phone with a little style

I'm trying to identify the right phone for a friend. It doesn't have to have any bells or whistles (camera, media, etc.) just basic phone functions with good UI and reception. But I would like it to be a little stylish and distinctive, not something that everyone else has. Something slightly (very slightly) in the spirit of the Nokia 7280/7380 but actually functional and not retarded. To be used on T-Mobile in the US.

Any suggestions? Price maybe $200-250, but higher is okay if it's really cool. But not Vertu levels.

Samsung x820 would be my pick.

At $200-250 range and TMO service, you can get latest phones with all the bells and whistles. Two places to check- phones are so personal these days, you should ask your friend to check out for him/her self:

mobileburn.com
infosyncworld.com

They do good review of phones. If you live in major US metro area, eg NYC, LA, look for re-seller in Chinatown or Asian district. You can get fantastic deals for phones; PM if you need help.
