Asian SIM

Hello All,

In the upcoming weeks I will be traveling to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. Anyone reccomend a good SIM card I can get with good rates to the US? I already have an unlocked quad-band cell phone. Thanks so much.

Your phone won't work in Japan, they have a unique standard.

Hong Kong, you can buy one right from any 7-11 or convenience store. Last time I bought CSL.

China is China Telcom. Not much competition.

ct doesn't do moblie. china mobile is probably the most convenient; local carriers like shanghai mobile tend to be cheaper (and have nice numbers on offer), but can't be recharged very easily in other markets. unicom is --pretty much-- the cheapest, but requires a cdma phone.

I believe China Mobile sells a type of SIM card that works for both Mainland and HK. You might want to look into that -- one number, one card, one price. And as previously stated, your phone won't work in Japan.
