Vonage - Lufthansa

Anyone tried using a vonage soft phone from a Lufthansa flight? For that matter, it would be interesting to see if you could bring your linksys adapter on the plane, connect to connexion through your computer and plug a regular phone in and have normal phone calls.

Assuming of course you could get all that garbage through security first...

It's been discussed, I think, over in the SQ forum... seems like the consensus is that there's not enough bandwidth to do it (or something... don't know the terms )

Better be upgraded because I doubt there is enough room in an economy seat to manage all that gear!

Don't forget Vonage has a SoftPhone you could install on a laptop and use a headset. It still may not work due to bandwidth, but it is much more practical than carting around an adapter and phone jus to see if it would work.

Wouldn't actually do it. But it would be pretty neat to sit there with an old clam shell phone while the nearby passengers tried not to stare...

Now that's an interesting development... I had seen posts otherwise.

Horrible thought just went through my mind: Someone saying, "Hey XXX, guess where I am?!"

its very very lound in an airplane.
so i am using my bose + a headset microphone to talk.
so i dont have to shoud as i can understand the others very good.

i am still looking for a noise cancellation headset which will cancel the airplane noise for IN and OUT.

in my eyes talking on the phone on the airplane does not affect others because its so lound anyway, and a phone call is not louder than talking someone next to you.
