Thanks redburgundy (always oneo of my favorites, although it was a white burgundy for dinner tonight...). I figured this out just this afternoon when I had a failed attempt at using it and then installed the upgrade. The first time around it spent a long time seeming to import my contact info from exported Outlook file, but when I went to find it on the razr it was nowhere to be found. (Even the teenage daughter couldn't find it, so I figure it is not there.) Now that I have the latest version I still need to get it to import some Outlook exported data.

Sorry. Mine is a foreign phone and came with the USB cable and Motorola software. I always charge my phone from the USB port on my laptop.

I didn't realize they don't all come with the USB cables and software.

Well, this has been quite the adventure. Incredibly time consuming, but this is one of those times where all of my tech gadgets are changing (new phone, new Palm, and unfortunately, a massively new email system at the University of California which attempts to switch us all from POP based systems to web-based Exchange).

Mobile Tools is not a walk in the park by my standards. Got my contact data into the phone (using my Powerbook), but attempting to use the MT application on the PC to access and change the data has not worked at all. No data shown. I know it is there; I can see it on the Razr. Have version 3.23 -after an update. Does anyone know of a concise manual for this??

Fussed around a bit more and got this to work. Contacts all downloaded to phone. Thanks to all for the advice. Am enjoying the Razr as it turns out. Very nice feeling phone and slips into pockets easily. I use it exclusively as a phone (as opposed to MP3 player, camera etc.) and it certainly does a fine job at that.
