Wrong. Sirius (not XM) covers nearly all of North and Central America. I have listened to Sirius from my cruise ship balcony in Aruba (just off shore from Venezuela), Grenada, Dominica and the Panama Canal.

There is a difference, a big difference between Sirius and XM
Sirius compared to XM has different satellite footprints (Sirius is broader and I think better) and different signal encoding techniques (Sirius is better) and a number of different virtual channels.
