System Restore Nightmare

System Restore Nightmare

Just did a clean install of XP SP2 on my IBM T40.
I created a restore point prior to installing my AV software.
Ran into some trouble with the software. So I uninstalled it.
Then because I had gotten a BSOD on this 2 day old installation I decided to go back to the restore point to make sure I was in the clear.
It seems as if I hae duplicates of every icon in start menu heirarchy. Also still getting messages that my AV sodtware's .exe file cannot be found etc.
FYI it was Kasperosky 1.1 Security suite that pointed me down this path.
Any comments about the system restore duplicates issue?
