Does the Treo 650 support WiFi?

I find conflicting information on this subject at PalmOne's web site. I am ready to purchase an unlocked, Treo 650 but it has to have WiFi capability.

If not, then back to the search.

Thanks in advance!

It is my understanding that the Tungsten5 WiFi drivers have been made to work for the Treo, but not without a little hacking. I know Enfora (www.enfora.com ) has a WiFi cradle on its way... But there is no "out of the box" solution as of yet. Palm of course has to keep the operators happy by keeping people using THEIR networks and not WiFi

My treo 650 does not have wifi capability. Access to the web and email is through GPRS.

There's a sled you can buy to enable wifi for the phone.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

It looks like the Enfora WiFi sled for the Treo 650 is due in stores on September 14.

I really like the layout and capabilities of the Treo 650 but WiFi is a must since Vodafone Malta charges a fortune for Internet (GPRS?) access. I have seen plenty of places with free WiFi.

If everything works out as planned, then I will be picking up both the Treo and Enfora next month on my quarterly visit to the States. I was going to pick one up in Dubai but the prices there are about $150 higher.

Glad they finally got some kind of solution - too bad it couldn't just be a softward hack.

That Enfora solution is a JOKE! It works but is absolutely comical. It includes it's own battery and acts as a 'cradle' for the phone. You must take the phone's back off. This clips in instead. It also makes the phone MORE than twice as thick as it was before and about 3" longer. Also, it looks horribly cheesy, the plastic is awful, it's just junk. It at least includes a charger that charges the wi-fi pack and the phone but considering wi-fi cards fit on SD these days this thing is just horrid.

Wow Stimpy! Thanks for taking the time to put that together. I am going to research the FT77dm but I think you covered it all.
