The problem with the photos is that they're outdated by (probably) 4 years or more. My neighbor's house shows an above ground pool, which they discarded the minute they moved in about 4 years ago.

Nevertheless, it certainly will be good/fun for we travelers.

It all depends on the area, my region seems to be no more than 6 months old.

all depends

yeah, it all depends. Keyhole gets the data from the MAN, and contrary to what we might think the MAN doesn't like new photos of most metro areas. So, I think you will find strange gaps in coverage newness, depending on where the metro area is. I have been trying to place the date on the NYC satellite pictures, it certainly is post 911, but not much

Google Earth downloads temporarily delayed
Thanks for your interest in Google Earth, but we're sorry we can't offer you a download right now. As you know, Google Earth is in beta, and we're still building out our ability to take on new users. We're making good progress, and expect to be able to accept new downloads shortly, so we recommend you check back daily at earth.google.com. We hope to be able to welcome you and other new planet surfers soon.

... also tried the link on previous page but assume D/L limit has been exceeded.
