Question Treo question?????

I am getting a Treo 650 from a friend who had to change to Blackberry as his new job supports only that.
Could someone please give me some advice and answer a few????
Are they locked like a cell phone?
Do they use sim cards?
Can I sync with my Palm V?
He also needs to transfer the Treo to the BB can this be acomplished?
thank you in advance,
Jon

1. You mean SIM locked to one provider? Depends on how it was bought. Right now, you could buy one from Cingular, which would be locked, or from Palmone, which wouldn't be locked. If it's from Cingular, you can request the unlock code after 90 days of service.
2. Depends on which model you get, CDMA or GSM. Sprint is CDMA, which does not use a SIM. GSM does use a SIM (Cingular/AT&T and T-Mobile)
3. You can resync your Palm V data to the Treo via Palm Desktop/Hotsync.
4. Best way is to sync the Treo to Outlook, then to the BB

I'm sure your friend will kick himself when (or should I say if?) Blackberry releases their PalmOS client for the Treo.

One fine point to make, if you purchase your treo direct from palmone, make sure to click on the link for unlocked treo 650 instead of the choosing a provider first. I have provided the link for the un-locked treo 650 below for ease sake.
