That looks more like the Doomsday project done back in the early 80's in the UK.

A9 looks more promising than this.

google maps now has a "Satellite" link that you can click on to view the area. and it works, complete with zoom!

(sheesh i had to scroll waaay back to find this thread.. couldn't find it on google)

Talking Overrated

Maps are old - streets missing as mentioned - but can't even view Paris?
I tried to update my business listing and couldn't get it done after multiple emails to tech support.

I also noticed some of the sattelite photos are pieced together. If you look at Central Park in NYC, you can see most of it was taken in winter time (brown, barren trees) and a small portion of it is lush and green like summer!

I think it depends on the area, though, how new the maps are. My neighborhood in Queen Creek, AZ (built in April 2004) doesn't show up on maps (including Google's), Microsoft's Terraserver satelite maps (from 1992!), but it looks like Google's satelite view is from sometime during Summer 2004. (Looking at all the dead grass/desert).
