7100 GPRS Modem

Can anyone confirm if the 7100 can be used as a GPRS modem by a PC?

The 7230 cannot.

These phones arent nokias are they? Model numbers dont match.. care to give us the manufacturer?

Pretty much any Nokia with an IR or bluetooth that is GPRS capable can be used as a modem.. Simply enable IR on the phone and sit it next to your laptop.. if you've installed the PC suite properly you'll see it register a new modem and then you simply define a new connection and select the phone as the modem.

I've used 6590, 7210 and the new 6230 with no problem as a modem

There's more than enough bollar to go around.... But I prefer to be thought of as the FT bollar.

Any chance this can be enabled through bluetooth in the future? Or are there security concerns?

Seriously doubt that will ever happen. RIM is pretty strict in it's security policy.

Why not pop over to the 7100 forum at www.blackberryclub.com, a great resource.
