I cannot get Java applet to load on my new computer.

I just got a new computer and it is loaded with Windows XP. I cannot get my Java applet loaded once I attempt to log into FlyerTalk Chat. Is there a setting I have to change? I have McAfee Personal firewall but that has not stopped me before. I also have a google tool bar loaded and this has not stopped me before. What else can I do?

It could be an older version of java.

Try getting the most recent over at

http://java.com/en/index.jsp

Also check your browser settings, firewall settings, they could just be set not to run java (do that first)

Your machine likely did not have the MSJVM preinstalled. According to MS.... http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/

The MSJVM is no longer available for distribution from Microsoft and there will be no enhancements to the MSJVM. Microsoft products and SKUs currently including the MSJVM will continue to be retired or replaced by versions not containing the MSJVM on a schedule to be announced.

Thanks for the input. I will work on installing Java when I have a little time to work with it, maybe Monday.
