Anyone have more recent experience with Lingo? Hopefully they've managed to clean up some of their issues over the last year.

Regardless, I think I'm going to have to give them a try as the free Western Europe will be a big savings for me, and the only other VOIP provider that I know of (Broadvoice) is supposedly a very shady operator. If you exceed X minutes per month, they reclassify your account as a business account, get rid of free int'l calls, and retroactively charge you for int'l minutes you've used since you opened your account. :eek:

Anyone know anything about their referral program? I've heard it's a better deal to sign up with a referral but am not sure of the details.

I'm an affiliate of Lingo's. I can't answer your other questions, but I looked up to see if there were any special deals going on -- there aren't. The only thing they're offering to affiliates is the first month free promo that you can get just by going to their Web site on your own. So there's nothing special available on that end.

I have a broadvoice line and it is possible to forward calls to any number included in your plan (i.e. with the unlimited world plus plan you can forward your calls for free to any number in France, USA, Brazil, New Zealand...) Not sure about forwarding to a French cell phone number since this is not included in the plan...
It is actually very convenient. If you're traveling within the US without your phone adapter, you can just go online and set up a call forwarding to any number included in your plan that you wanna call. Then just dial your broadvoice number with your US cellphone (with unlimited long distance) and you're connected for free to whatever country you wanna call...

I'm very happy with Broadvoice and the price is unbeatable so far.
I must say I ran into trouble for 2 months when I was unable to call certain numbers in Brazil but it's been working very well recently and I can't believe all the calls I'm able to place for the flat rate I'm paying!
