Cingular's Sony Ericsson T616 unlocked?

Does the Sony Ericsson T616 come unlocked? I heard that most Cingular phones come unlocked.

Most Cingular "worldphones" come unlocked.

If not you can send it off to be unlocked for around $30.

Easy way to check if a (Sony)Ericsson is unlocked:

Arrow (or joystick) left, STAR, STAR, Arrow (or joystick) left.

SO: < * * <

It will then show an overview of the locks, a locked padlock on the "network subset" means it's simlocked.

Hey, Scott.

My AT&T-WS t616 has the padlock closed on the network icon, but it's open on the "network subset", "SP" and "Corporate" icons on that page. What does that mean?

Thanks,
David

That means it's locked to your network

You have 2 options, asking Cingular to unlock it for you, or to send it off to a firm like www.globalmob.com

Thanks for your reply .. that's what I thought.

My friend at work already ordered the service/data cable so we can unlock it (for a small fee) using this web-based service + their software: http://gsm-software.com/unlocksonyericsson.html

I'll let my friend try it first.
