Help with Win2000 problems
I've been living with two annoying Windows 2000 problems for a long time:
1.) On system startup I get a red X window: WJView Error , "Error: Could not execute Main: The System cannot find the file specified" I click on "OK" with no further issues
It looks like I have a few versions of wjview.exe on my system, and that this is a VM command line interpreter. What do I need to do so that I do not get this error box?
2.) On system startup "My Documents" opens displaying in file manager format the contents of that folder or sub-directory.
How can change settings so that this does not open? (I've been through "startup" and regedit without success.)

(oops, didn't see that you already did that)
The WJView on startup will either be in the programs list under "startup" or in your registry.
If you are comfortable using the registry open it (using regedit on the "run" command window) and do a search for the filename, it should appear under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENT VERSION/RUN
Just delete the key containing the multiple running one.
Another possibility is that it's being started as a service, for that you'll need to go to your control panel, open the "administrative tools" window, then go to the services part and see if the WJView service is being started there, if so, just disable it.

1)
Haven't read the entire thread on this forum but your solution should be in there.

Thanks.
I got rid of the wjview error box by going into the registry. I found some old LimeWire entries, LimeShop specifically, that called for wjview.exe. I deleted those registry entries and that resolved the problem.
I still can't figure out why "My Documents" folder display opens at startup?
