ScottC is right; Anyone can snoop your WiFI connection, sitting in the Airport lounge. There are PD programs out there that can do it
I second this post. If you're using a public connection assume that everything you transmit/receive is intercepted unless you've taken measures to encrypt the communication.

If you're using any connection, assume someone is looking at your traffic. There really isn't any difference between wired and wireless from a user point of view. Even VPNs can be penetrated, and strong encryption on sensitive data is the only real defense.
