Portable Scanner

I am currently having to travel to some customer sites that do have fax machines, but to get to them is a hassle.

And I need to fax some reports that the only way to do it is to print them, and fax them.

So I am looking for a very light and portable scanner, so I can send those documents.

And no, printing to a PDF doesn't work, this is not a windows application, but Telnet

Thanks

Canon makes some small, lightweight USB flatbed scanners. They're USB bus powered so you don't need a power brick. One would take up about as much room as a legal notebook (the paper kind).

Here is one at random from a Froogle search for "canon scanner."

Could a system like J2 work for you?

On what kind of machine are you initiating the Telnet session? There should be some way of recording it to a file.

Don't tell me you are using an ASR33 or something similar?

No, no, the problem is that we are printing some reports that have barcodes in them, and the telnet session is initiating that output.

No way to see the reports on the screen, or capture them to a file
