Nokia 6600

Anyone else got one of these?

So far I like it... Vast improvement over the 3650... The LCD is MUCH brighter and I suspect the LED's driving it are an extra battery drain as well... Batter life seems a little lower than the 3650 so far... or it could be that Nokia has an honest battery meter now ?

Just got one last week. It's a very neat tech toy, but the interface is a bit dysfunctional. It's top heavy, the menuing system is sluggish, your finger is guaranteed to smudge the camera lens when writing SMSes, the menu keys are offset from the screen edge, I keep hitting "right menu" (which cancels the message!) instead of "C" (backspace)... nothing critical, just annoyances that have usually been absent from Nokia products.

And I still miss my old 6800's keyboard.

I have one and the biggest disappointment is the ringing volume. Compared to my other Nokia's (7210) it is terrible. I took it to Nokia Care Centre and they could not make it any louder and told me it was because of the new design.
I am popping an email off to Nokia Tech to verify this.
Anyone else notice the lack of clarity and loudness?

Expect Sendo to have the recievers knock on the door soon... Since they dropped the MS smartphone their forecasted revenue stream went down the tubes. They didn't ship the Series 60 device till NOW... They are in MAJOR financial situation now.

Unless the Texan court rules in their advantage... Don't forget that Microsoft gave them millions, surely some of that is still left...

Phone bought in HKG so assume it is the Asia/Pacific model. Bought the phone from Nokia and another 6600 straight out of box had same volume (lack of) on loudest settings.

Kurwah, my phone (also APAC) is screamingly loud... I'd guess the first batch had a bit of a problem, so they overcompensated in the next?

Some APAC Nokia models always have a different volume range due to local market differences (don't ask why..)

So what do you think my chances are of tweaking the volume settings (through NCC of course)either here in HKG or in AUS?

You'll need to get a localized firmware version, and a service point willing to change it for you...
