Keeping your connection alive with the netgear - I think I cracked that nut, I have the time out set to be an hour or so, and have the e-mail client checking mail every 30 minutes, so that it never times out.

Yeah, I could do that, but I don't always have a computer connected (or awake) on the network to be checking email. The Linksys has a function where it creates network activity every so often to keep the connection alive.
