Best PDA?

I am going to purchase a new PDA. I am considering the Compaq Ipaq 3870 and the Sony Clie PEG NR-70V.

I love the MS Pocket PC 2002 OS, and the Bluetooth is a great advantage. But the Sony with the palm OS and the integrated digital camera is also appealing.

I used to have a Palm VIIx, which I liked the wireless capability, but after a while I found myself not using it that often.

Which PDA do you guys would recommend?

Sounds like budget is not an issue, since you are looking at the high end unit in both categories.

HP/Compaq Ipaq is a nice unit, although I think it is a little larger footprint then the Sony. Bluetooth is good, although you'll need to invest in compatible accesories. Good media support (MP3, MPEG. Number of PocketPC applications is smaller than Palm, but growing. Need SD memory storage (can use others with additional expansion units).

Sony offers built in camera and great media support. Hi-res screen is to die for. Many Palm OS applications out there. Built in keyboard is a plus, along with flip screen. Need MemoryStick for storage/expansion.

I'm a little biased toward Palm (I wrote one of the first "how-to" books on the thing). Unless you have factors you have not discussed, it sounds like a coin toss.

Enjoy!

Cost is an issue, but I found those two models at ubid and ebay, and for good prices.

So I was wondering where to put my money.

Thanks for the input.

Skip Compaqs... They are having serious software issues and several of them have still not been solved (backlighting problems, bluetooth problems etc...). Take a look at the new Toshiba 740 series, standard WLan or Bluetooth, 400MHz XScale CPU and loads of expansion options, it's also cheaper than the ipaq's.

Thanks for the information.

I ended up buying an iPAQ 3765, brand new for $220 at yahoo.auctions.com.

I wanted to make a good investment on a PDA, but the boss(my wife) vetoed it.

Anyway, I really like the iPAQ
