File synchronization with Android phones
Android seems to have locked down security to the point that synchronization seems basically impossible these days.
I used to use the Android client for Goodsync, then it started failing. At that point I was able to plug the phone into a cable so the filesystem mounted and it worked fine. Now, however, the Windows client keeps dying. I can successfully sync one directory, but as soon as I try to do anything else it dies--and once it dies it can only be restored by unplugging the phone and plugging it back in.
Trying to simply do a copy with Total Commander doesn't cause a hang but it doesn't work, either, so it's pretty clear that it's the phone doing it to me.
I can understand it as a defense against malware and I was annoyed with Google not providing a permission for those apps that legitimately need to wander through the files. Now, enforcing it against Windows has become a royal pain.
After removing the state files from the phone Goodsync will sync the camera, but there are a gazillion directories in my Kindle folder.
