I think Sunrise has 20 CHF offers for unlimited 7 days of data, not sure it includes any voice calls.
Or they charge about 3 CHF for unlimited data per day, each day you use mobile data, but you have to pay like 20 CHF up front for the SIM and enough credit. |
Just a reminder that VOIP calling only uses about 1Mb of free or paid data per minute.
Dual Sim, Dual Standby phones can make calls just for just pennies per minute of data if you have a reasonably priced (<$2-$3Gb) data plan. I have T-Mobile for free roaming data and a $10 a month US Mobile 2Gb plan on their Warp/Verizon service. It gets free international calls from the US and calls made while roaming are $0 billed as originating in the US while using VOIP-IMS. This system gives me free roaming calling to international numbers while overseas. I have tested this a moderate amount in Europe, Asia, and Central & South America with consistent, stable results. When I am in the US, the USM Verizon service is available for the rare loss of T-Mobile service, or for calling numbers I'd rather not have caller ID register my daily, main phone number. |
Has anybody been able to install and use these eSIMs if their phones were still under contract to a US carrier?

IOW, is locked device still a thing with eSIMs? A locked phone will prevent activating a sim/esim from another carrier. iPhone settings, general, about, carrier lock if the message is “No sim restrictions” any carrier esim can be used. My work Pixel, I don’t know how to check. |

On Reddit,everyone is touting an eSIM provider.
Some disclose that they get a commission if you click their link, some don’t. That’s why I hope more and more recognizable carriers directly offer prepaid eSIMs. |
