The 2018 iPhones (Xs/Xs Max/Xr) thread

I thought I'd start a thread for the latest and SUPER AMAZING REVOLUTIONARY NEW IPHONES, the BEST PHONES EVER.

I upgrade phones every 3 years, so it was exciting for me to order a new one this morning. I used the Apple Store app on my current phone around 8am. It said the new one would be delivered Sep 28-Oct 5, so I gather that lots of people woke up at 3am to order a phone. Me, I prefer sleep.

I'm waiting for an Apple event where they say, "We've made a mediocre iPhone."

It seems tome that the iPhone 8 at $599 is the star of this show. YMMV.

I'm a tech addict. The first step is admitting I've got a problem.

Pre-ordered two of the Xs Max in 256GB (Sim-Free) variety. One for me, and one for the wife.

I had thought about getting one but then decided that, since I only upgrade every three years, I should just get the top of the line one.

Based on the specs of the new iphones this year, it seems the AT&T version will be compatible with any carrier. Can anyone confirm this? Asking since we plan to use the Citi AT&T credits finally.

Nice thing about being on the West Coast -- I just had to stay up until midnight and had my Xs Max ordered by 12:20 -- had some snags with the app -- assuming overload -- so it took a little longer.

I can't confirm, but that is my impression. But depending on how you buy them they may be locked to a carrier. I've seen talk of people using the eSim for T-Mobile and the physical SIM for Verizon -- but since the eSIM firmware support won't come until later, who knows if this will actually work...

Just upgraded to iPhone 8, I like the Touch ID rather then FACE ID and I wish they had included Touch ID. Apart from that don't feel anything really new in New iPhone specially with the $$$$ Price Tag.

I ordered one yesterday morning at 3:04am EST. I'll be getting it Friday. I went all out (XS Max 512gb). Got the sim free version. Can't wait to use the dual sim functionality.

Excess Max is certainly an appropriate name for an iPhone.

The Dual sim thing will be especially great for my wife. Hopefully we can move her t-mo number to the e-sim. then I can put one of my spare Data-only sims into her spare slim slot so she can have full speed data roaming internationally courtesy of Google fi.

I didn't even think of that one(signing up for google fi that is).

Wonder if fi will allow plan activations on the iPhone(doubt it).
