SIM card option for Germany?

Dear FT friends,

I just got off the phone with a dear elderly friend.

She is going to be flying into Frankfurt Germany airport next month and is wondering if there might be a Sim card option that would work for her while she is there for six weeks. She is from Germany but hasnít been back in many many years. She would want to have access to call her friends in Germany as well as in the United States along with unlimited text and data while she is there. She has an iPhone 6 on Verizon and would be looking for an option for that phone. She was told that there is an $87 monthly option on Verizon but I figured there must be a more cost-effective option.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what I could suggest for her. I would really like if there was something available that she could get at the Frankfurtbairport as soon as she lands.

any advice or direction would be appreciated.

william

The Prepaid SIM Wiki is a good resource too.

She'll want to make sure her phone is unlocked as well
