Bluetooth Earbuds With Airline Entertainment (Merged threads)

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get a bluetooth airplane jack adaptor?

(ie double prong device that plugs into the airplane head phone socket that will broadcast bluetooth so my bluetooth head phones can receive the signal).

All I could find was a mitone mitba10 and am looking for other products.
http://mitone.eu/products/earphones/mitba10/

Would a bluetooth adaptor that has a single 3.5mm pin work?

Thanks

Can't you just use one of these

with one of these?

As others mentioned, a 3.5mm Bluetooth Transmitter with a two-prong adapter should work just fine, and have a myriad of other uses as well. I'd give this one a try (about 1/2 the price of the one listed above).

I've been using this one for the better part of a year now, and am very happy with the results. No wires to get tangled, and I can still listen to the movie / show when I get up for the lav.

I've been able to position the stereo 1/8" mini plug to where I get sound in both ears of my BT earphones, but for best results use a 2-prong to 1/8" stereo adapter.

Happy listening.

What do you do for those three prong plugs, like the ones on AA 777?

Three prong plugs are just 2 prong plugs, with a 3rd plug that provides power for noise-canceling headphones.

Attempting to use that power socket to power the BT adapter would be an interesting experiment, but otherwise you can just ignore the 3rd socket.

Thanks, I may try one of these BT adapters. Definitely prefer using my own to whatever wired ones the airlines give you.

Quite surprised that the BT NC headsets don't come with something like this.
MiTone MITBA10 - MiTone
and I expected it to be smaller.

Considering that the aeroplane's IFE is the only connection that I want for my BT NC headphones which does not support it, I would guess that the manufacturers have thought it through along the same line.

How to Use Bluetooth Earbuds With Airline Provided Entertainment?

So I use Bluetooth earbuds with my tablet while flying.

Occasionally, I want to tap into what the airline has on offer. Any device I can plug into the airline's jack to create a Bluetooth signal for the earbuds?

I would need to buy about a dozen as I am sure I would leave them on the plane!

Search is your friend. eg, M1 Bluetooth transmitter (i.e. how to send audio to BT headphones) and Bluetooth airplane jack adaptor

Note the comments in the first thread around lag - easy to overcome with a laptop/tablet, harder with the airlines entertainment system...

Another satisfied user here. Works fine and I am not getting any lag.
