Google location sharing

I'm trying to get this set up on our phones.

Her phone is set to share. On a PC I see it fine. On my phone (logged into the same Google account) I do not see it even when following the link in the e-mail that's sent when a location is shared. (It's supposed to show their location on Google Maps.)

I don't give a hoot about it on the PC, I want this to work while we are traveling!

Both phones are Android.

I'd recommend something like Life360 or Glympse for what you're probably trying to accomplish.

Much like Google does, Google Latitude worked quite well...so they got rid of it. I also haven't had good luck with their latest Location Sharing thing either.

Strangely enough it started working today. Nothing has been changed with either phone, it must have been something on Google's side.

I'm trying to make something that involves a minimum (preferably zero) effort on her side as she does not cope with tech very well. Find my phone from the device manager works but requires typing her password--and for some reason I'm horrible at typing passwords on a phone. (I'm not a good typist on a phone, period--I simply don't do enough of it.)
