Would this even work?

Saw this in a thrift store. Something I haven't seen in 22-odd years.

Assuming that one had hardware that was backward compatible - and 3 1/2" floppy disk drive, would this even work these days?

Unlikely--no drivers.

If you had old hardware that would have worked with the OS 20+ years ago, I don't see why it wouldn't work now. Good luck finding that hardware, though.

Still running on lots of PBX systems and process control equipment, but as others have said, out of the box no support for newer hardware. Ecomstation.com offers a binary compatible version that runs on contemporary hardware so it still lives on.

Quite sure you could fire it up in a virtual machine.

I LOVED OS/2. Ran it as my desktop OS for years in the 90's.

Every time I hear the term OS/2, I just remember the commercial for it from the 90s with the nuns walking around, and one of them says, "OS/2 Varp?!"
