OT: PS3 Question

I am asking this question here instead of OMNI because everyone here is so helpful. (MODERATORS: Feel free to move to OMNI if inappropriate for TT).

When I was recently traveling, my partner complained to me "I so wish I could get Super Mario Bros for the PlayStation 3." He loved this game from his youth!

I have never played the game... but know it was not released on the PS3 platform.

Is there any way to actually get the game so it plays on the PS3 platform? I am not knowledgeable of the game or platform, so I am no help whatsoever!

Thanks in advance.

Nope, Nintendo only. You'll need a Wii or Wii U. Thankfully, you can find yourself a Wii and a copy of the game for under $75.

Well, never say never. If your PS3 is below a certain firmware, yes, it is possible to install NES/SNES emulators and play Super Mario Bros. I won't say more than that but a quick Google search will explain a lot more.

Yeah, but for most people, finding that old PS3, modding it and getting the game working is about 750% more work than just picking up a Wii.

Unless you find someone willing to do it for you on the relative cheap:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-Playsta...item2ee19ee2ca

.... but then you have to hope it works.

The auction's still up! I'm quite surprised given it has the words "jailbreak" and "emulators" in the title.
