Using Apple Pay Abroad

Hey guys, don't think there's a thread for this yet. But I'm curious how Apple Pay would work abroad.

On a recent trip to Hong Kong I figure I would give it a try, and it worked at every single NFC terminal (and there are A LOT in Hong Kong). Might be Bank-dependent though...all my Citi cards worked and all my Chase cards got declined.

Anyone else with experience elsewhere?

I used it in Vienna and Germany right after it came out. I had about a 80% accept rate; all with Chase. All Apple Pay is NFC, but the reader must have had its software updated to support tokenization

I used many cards (Citi and Chase) in Australia in December, and all the NFC and PayPass terminals I encountered worked perfectly.

So much easier than dealing with the hassle of the Chip+Sig junk we're stuck with otherwise...
