Not sure how long it takes as I cannot decide yet if I like it.

I received my invite yesterday, but I have no idea if I have any invites to give (can't find any mention of them in settings either on mobile or desktop). Any guidance on where your invites are and how to give them?

Takes about 3-5 days to get invites

Can anyone tell me if its worth taking the time to look at? From what I've read, it's just a few bells and whistles added to the existing gmail. And most of those are social media related which I'm not so interested in. I'm not sure why they didn't just add these features to gmail as options?

I have to say I am with you on this. From what I have seen it looks like what my daughter looks at on Instaidiot and stuff. Quite happy with it looking traditional. If only they could get it looking like a VM inbox all would be well! Perhaps there is an app for that !

I have been using it for only 2 days, but haven't seen anything that is social-media-related.

Notification emails from social media sites get grouped together, but that is nothing new.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't "get" Inbox.

If someone would like to explain, in idiot terms, the benefits of using Inbox, I would be much appreciative. I did check out the Google Inbox website and really left more confused than anything. But I can be slow sometimes!

To me, it just further pushes two key aspects of regular email... (1) Never delete anything and (2) Grouping of message types (as was rolled out with Category Tabs). I'm trying to commit to see if it works for me but it goes against my own mentality of (1) deleting what I don't need and (2) organizing what I do keep into specific custom labels/folders (which you can still do, it just takes an extra tap compared to GMail.

Funny thing is now I'm using GMail for Exchange and NOT for GMail.

Yeh, those are my two main things. I can find any email I need in about 10 seconds, because I delete what I don't need and organize everything else. I just don't see how a "revolutionary" email program/system can do that for me.

But, I am happy to be proven wrong!

Probably because the bulk of people just don't delete and organize...
