Call Blocking options

I have a Samsung 4 (through Verizon). Starting today, I started receiving phone calls from "3458". That's the entire number. I answered it once and got a computerized voice telling me to press 1 to connect the call or 2 for a voice mail. I hung up. It has called me 4 times now. I called Verizon to ask if I can block it (No, it has to be a 10 digit number to block). Their only suggestion is just not to answer the call.

Any suggestions to either block the call or figure out where it might be calling from?

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

3458 by itself is a known 'spoof' number, but you might be able to block it by blocking this number.

My sister had a similar problem, different number, and this is how we dealt with it. Good luck.

Are you able to add that to your "Reject List" on your Galaxy 4? I have a Galaxy Note 2 which should be similar to Galaxy 4. In your Phone app, there should be a Call Logs that list all the numbers in/out. Select that number and hold it and a context menu should come up. One of the option should be to add it to the "Reject List".

That is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for the hint. I did that and hopefully that will stop the calls. I already got 2 this morning. Boy, are they persistent.

It stopped mine. I use to get lots of calls from Time Share sales. With the older versions of Android, the Reject List would let the caller ring and took them to Voicemail, which is kind of dumb since they just thought you didn't pick up and just keep calling back every day. And I will see their numbers in call logs and sometime with a voicemail of 2 seconds of silence. But with the new version of Android (I am on 4.3), they just don't show up anymore.. in call log or voicemail. I am temped to put my boss number on the Reject List... hehe.. what you called me? Where.. see this is my call log...

Well, whoever this person or company is they are extremely persistent. After doing the call reject for the first number, I got 3 calls from a full 10-digit number in my area code (303) yesterday. I answered the phone and got the same option: press 1 to be connected or 2 for a voice mail. I didn't do anything and just hung up. I googled the number and nothing came up. So I called the number back and got a disconnected number. I just added to my call reject listing.

I have always been extremely careful about handing out my cell number. I have a Google Voice number I use to sign up for stuff.
