Dropbox Cannot Establish Secure Connection
All of a sudden, I'm having a problem with Dropbox. I get the red 'x' and a 'cannot establish secure connection' error. After researching online, I've tried all of the following, but no luck - curious if anyone else has the same problem:
1. I restarted the app and also rebooted
2. I changed wifi networks and routers
3. I turned the Apple firewall off and on - no change
4. I turned my Avast network screener off and on and verified an exemption (that was always there) for Dropbox - no change
I ran a port checker and my port 80 is blocked, but that was with my firewalls on - when I turned them off, Dropbox still would not connect.
Nothing on the laptop changed - this just started yesterday by itself.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What kind of laptop? What browser? What is the specific error you get if you click the link that says something to the effect of "more info please"?
It works fine from here, so it may be some intermediary server trying to impersonate Dropbox for some reason - which could be anything from needing to log in to the network to something malicious.
We need more info.

Apple Macbook. My chrome browser logs in and connects to the dropbox site without a problem and I can see files, but the app client is not connecting and the status page of the web version is indicating no connection for about two days...and thus nothing is syncing.
I could unlink, but I'm afraid that would delete files from either dropbox or my computer and if I can't link again, that would be problematic.

Well I have no idea what's going on, but I reinstalled the client, a newer version, and now it's working again.
