Airbuds Flyertalk Discount Code

I've recently obtain the following promo code for Flytalk members and I just want to share.

FLYERBUDS30

I got these earbuds per other FT member's recommendations and mostly for isolating noise during flights. The tips are very comfortable and the cable is tangle resistance which is great for packing. Anyway, just want to share the code in case others are interested.

Nice promo - don't mean the discount but the attempted advertising, LOL.

And ^^^^ for Scott's warning. Buyers beware - these airbuds don't last very long. YMMV

I was gonna say, doesn't this post pop up every now and then and is linked back to the company doing shady advertising?

I bought one pair. Never again.

Dear Community,

I wanted to address (officially) some of the concerns that have been discussed on this site. First of all, Cohiba1492 is not an employee of ours, nor is he affiliated with our company. He is a repeat customer that our employees specifically asked to post our new promo code on Flyertalk, and he was nice enough to do so.

I don't want him blamed for negative activity that our past employees engaged in :/ In the past, our salesmen worked on a commission basis and SOME of them took the liberty to make 'fake' accounts on numerous different forums with specific discount codes that could be traced back to them for commission purposes. Needless to say, this is NOT the practice of our company and these employees have been let go after severely damaging our reputation on a number of forums.

Last year, we had a quality issue with a large batch of units where the cable was shorting out near the 3.5 mm jack. Since then, we have launched our second generation which ships with three extra pairs of tips, two regular sized and one for smaller ear canals. We have also made the cable and wiring MUCH more durable, basically recreating the drivers and wiring techniques. Flyertalk customers continue to be a large market for us and we thank you for the support and honest feedback.

Without this forum, we would never had been able to address these quality issues. Sorry for any confusion and if anyone was not responded to in a timely manner, I urge you to reach out again for a replacement pair as soon as possible. Please say you are flyertalk customer so if it is an old purchase we know to still replace it, no questions asked and free of any charge.

Thank you again for your support and patience. We would be happy to answer any questions you have and thank you for choosing AirBuds as your travel companion. FLYERBUDS30 does give 30% off of any order and is always open for FlyerTalk customers. We are a small and dedicated team and most of us are avid travelers that love this forum.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you and best regards,
The AirBuds Team

Does the sound quality of them still suck? I know it does on the pair I bought primarily as a result of the fake reviews that claimed otherwise...

I went through 2 pairs before I realized these were not good ear phones. At first I thought it was something I was doing but then posted a message in this forum and realized most people have the issues. The last pair I had were sent to me in Sept. I know some complained about customer service, but they were also pretty responsive to me. They just need to have a better product.

I never had a problem with the sound quality but I'm not a big audiofile. I'm back to a cheap $10 Panasonic pair of ear buds that does the trick for me.

I love how the sincere and kindly worded post ends with an ad. Dearest potential customers, we fall on our sword and admit to our past transgressions AND HERE'S A PROMO CODE, SO ACT NOW!

Probably not a good sign - a company that sells earphones is tone deaf.

Want to share some thoughts, some of which has been aired earlier.

1. Since they were launched back then, I went thru 3 pairs, two died, one where mic piece fell apart but still usable, and so I stopped buying. When they worked, they worked nicely....both in terms of sound quality and wearing comfort. My gripe was durability, I treat them properly but they didn't last?

2. Recently saw their FB postings and posted a reply comment. Surprise, they offered to send me new 2nd gen model and it arrived several weeks ago. I use it at home and plan to take out on next biz trip.

So jury still out on their new generation. But thumbs up to their marketing acumen! ^

Yes, but given that the representative from AirBuds decided to resurface a few days ago and start a new thread I thought this one was worth reviving...

I have not tried the headphones themselves, but the foam tips they sell are amazing! I generally hate earbuds, but I added these to my Klipsh s4 and they are significantly more comfortable and offer better noise isolation then anything else I have tried. The only issue I find Im uncomfortable with them in my ears on take off / landing due to the pressure change.

Maybe it's just my ears, but they get very dirty, and they're not the best material to clean. A few washes and they seemed to have aged very poorly.
