"Partial" syncing with Dropbox or Google Drive?
Hey folks...
Like many of you, I have a "travel computer." It's an 11" Macbook Air. This particular one is a few years old and only has a 64Gb HD. Otherwise, it's awesome and does everything I need it to do for a travel machine - it's light, I can do work on it, do full presentations, etc etc.
I have both Dropbox and Google Drive. My challenge is that my Dropbox Account has 30Gb of files - between home and my 'real' work computer. I have Google Drive as well, although I haven't really taken advantage of it or used it.
Shy of creating a separate user and sharing one specific folder with that user (which would cost money, most likely), is there a way for me to set up a file syncing service so that it only syncs certain files? For example, I don't need my photos, or a lot of archived client information. But I would like access to specific current client info and files.
I apologize if what I ask isn't clear. I basically want to sync with only a portion of my sync'd drive. Anything else I'm happy to download from the web. Does such a beast exist?
EDIT BECAUSE I MAY HAVE ANSWERED MY OWN QUESTION - I'll leave this up here in case others run into a similar quandary:
Google Drive has a desktop application similar to Dropbox, and also has a "only sync some folders with this computer" option. That may be exactly what I'm looking for.
