Calling Technology Helpdesk: Ringing

OK... I bought a Dell XPS12 and have just noticed something.

I usually keep my volume muted unless there is something I need to hear.... so a background game or something does not blast.

I have noticed this weekend.... that on an irregular basis, I am hearing one "ringing" like I am getting a call.

The only communication program I use is Skype and nothing is showing in the call register. I looked at Task Manager and did not see anything strange....

Any suggestion on what it might be and what I should look for?

Not annoying... but also do not want it to be something trying to gain access to my computer.

Thanks,

William

If it's not brand new direct from Dell, check the system sounds to see if someone has messed with them.

Otherwise, could it be a website with some annoying ad?

What applications do you have open when you're hearing this?
