In-flight connectivity survey
As part of my Master Thesis at Cranfield University, I’m conducting a survey on the commercial aspects of in-flight connectivity.
On-board an airliner, in-flight connectivity allows passengers to connect their personal devices (e.g. mobile phone, tablet or laptop) to the internet and the cellular network (in-flight mobile roaming).
In particular, the survey assesses the current demand and willingness to pay for in-flight connectivity. Your answers will give insights into the structure and pricing of in-flight connectivity services from a passenger's perspective.

Welcome to FlyerTalk. I have decided to approve the survey since it seems reasonably well written and on point. Surveys of this nature are generally up to the moderator's discretion, but are generally discouraged. I hope you'll return and engage with the community here.
I note that there appears to be a large number of irrelevant responses in the survey regarding making mobile phone calls, sending SMS messages, and streaming video in flight. I believe these practices are universally forbidden on every airline and in every jurisdiction. I'm not sure why you'd put them in.

The main connectivity providers in this regard are OnAir and AeroMobile.
Regarding streaming video, as far as I know it is mostly discouraged or blocked to free up bandwidth, but not strictly forbidden?

Yes, the list of airlines allowing mobile phone use is rather long...besides Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Royal Jordanian, Saudia Arabian Airlines, Egypt Air, Oman Air, SAS, TAP, TAM, Singapore Airlines, Aer Lingus, Transaero etc. offer the service.
I'm not aware that video streaming is strictly forbidden on any airline, rather it is discouraged or blocked due to bandwidth limitations?
