Flash in Chrome is slow?
I always thought that my computer was just sucky, but it turns out it was my browser. When I watch flash video in Chrome, my CPU use spikes, the video is jerky and pixellated. I just tried watching the Daily Show in Firefox, and the video is smooth and clear.
I know Chrome uses Google's own variant of Flash, so I assume that's the problem. But why is Google Flash so bad?

Google Chome uses Pepper API. Try disabling it and install Adobe's plugin as described in http://support.google.com/chrome/bin...?answer=108086
Additionally, Chrome uses GPU acceleration. If your GPU is on the weaker side, it may end up slower than doing everything via CPU. Try adding "--disable-accelerated-compositing" to the Chrome short cut command and see if it helps any.

The link results in a blank page, but a little more poking around yielded the command line switch --disable-bundled-ppapi-flash which made Pepper Flash disappear from my plugins list - and now Adobe Flash plays videos smoothly in Chrome. Thanks!!
