New Great Circle map tool
Hi together,
In 2012 I launched http://www.greatcirclemapper.net, which is simple to use and works with Google Maps. There are some databases with airports, airlines, aircraft types, as well.
The Mobile-App will be there soon!
Best regards
Marcus

Welcome to FlyerTalk. Ordinarily we don't allow advertisements for one's own business on here. Since this website is directly related to the topic of the board, however, I have decided to allow it and see what others think.

Just a 5 minute first impression, don't like that I can't just plug in my airport codes but rather have to wait for the software to search for the code and put it in that little bubble. Would prefer to be able to enter stx-mia for example, instead of stx :wait: mia :wait: then search

On the positive side, the information provided on the final map is both interesting and useful, and I like the format that it uses.
On the negative side, the time to resolve my entry of the airport code was very, very long, as mentioned above. (It did seem to get a little faster as I performed additional searches, but the first lookup was interminable.) Also, the top left side of the page is too busy, with both the "The Great Circle Mapper Air Distance & Flight Time Calculation" and "Enter Airports" in the funny white script with an arrow overlapping.
If the speed of the airport code lookup was better, I would use this site.

I agree with both alpen1 and Wilbur.
I think the whole display need to be a little less busy (too much information is being displayed).
Maybe you could display the relevant data about a flight segment by hovering over the line between a specific city pair?
A reset button might be handy (some way to quickly clear the map and the entered airport codes).
Maybe an option to display statute miles instead of NM.

It occurs to me that there's already a thread on this in Travel Tools, which might be a better forum for this topic, anyway. So, I'll close this one.
