Using Bose Q15 on Notebook

Hi,

I wanted to use my Q15 on my Notebook. Sound works fine, but as the Q15 has only one plug and the notebook has 2 outlets - one for sound and one for mic.

I called Bose and asked for an adapter but they told me that for licensing problems with apple I would not be allowed to use the mic cable on my computer. This is only for the iphone.

This answer does not make sense to me.

Does anybody have any experience ?

Thanks

Stephan

I'm not sure what you're asking -- the QC15 doesn't have a mike (there is no Q15, as far as I know).

Just plug it into the headphone jack and leave it at that. Not sure why the microphone is even needed, as it's not a headset.

The microphone works great for Skype etc. on the phone, now I want to also use it with Skype on the PC.

Didn't realize you were trying to do two way with it, sorry.

Others have tried it on a macbook without any issues, so get the cable listed above and give it a try

I tried 2 different adapters from cablesonline.net and both did not work. The mike stayed silent.

They suspect that it has to do with the on board soundcard of my Sony VPCZ1.

BUMP
So far as I know, Bose recently introduced both Apple and then non-Apple versions of the microphone/conferencing attachment for the QC15. I have the non-Apple version (although I haven't rested it yet as I can't find my QC15's!). It costs about $30.

Please post how you get on?
